For which applications Toro pallets are most suitable and why?

Range of industries including multiple food segments, pharmaceutical, electronics, automotive, transportation equipment, beverage, textile, printing and apparel are some of the prime candidates for using Toro pallets. Toro pallets bring long-term cost savings due to lowest weight and higher weight to load ratios, longer maintenance free life, lower life cycle costs and recycling at the end of useful life.
Return to the questions

In what conditions Toro pallets become most appropriate solution?

. A well-managed supply chain (interdependent relationships) . Relatively short logistical cycle (time and distance) . Tightly controlled closed-loop or a well managed open-loop shipping system . High and low temperature tolerance issues . High product damage rates . High waste disposal costs . High cost of recurring phytosanitary treatment . Worker safety or ergonomic issues . Product shipped to/from regional distribution centers  . Need for unitization . Direct-to-store shipments . Eco responsible handling
Return to the questions

What does a Toro Pallet weigh?

Toro Pallets weigh in the range of 25 - 40 lbs for standard pallets, custom pallets would weigh based on their configuration.
Return to the questions

What are Hybrid pallets made of?

Hybrid pallets have stringers and deck boards made of grade AL6063 extruded aluminum section having patented geometry for imparting high structural strength with minimum weight. The spacers are patented plug and play design and injection molded in industrial grade polypropylene resin.
Return to the questions

What is the advantage of the Toro's patented aluminum sections?

. High strength-to-weight ratio . Reduced deflection . Accurate and consistent tolerances . Cleanability . Superior static load capacity . No fastener on the loading surface . No sharp corners
Return to the questions

The website says "there are no fasteners on the loading or unloading surfaces", is it true?

This is absolutely true. The fasteners used in Toro Pallets are aluminum rivets and these are all in the undercarriage, we chose to use rivets to enhance transportation flex, i.e.. flexible movement of the pallet while being transported by air, rail or road in order to prevent product damage.
Return to the questions

Do your pallets have rounded corners?

Yes, Toro Pallets are designed with a radius and do not have any sharp corners. Reducing sharp edges and corners means enabling least product damage, be it bags, sacks or boxes.
Return to the questions

How many pallet sizes are available?

There are 14 standard sizes to choose from, however we make customized pallets for those requirements that cannot be met with our standard sizes. Our pallets can go to a max of 16.4 x 16.4 feet.
Return to the questions

What are the static and dynamic loads Toro Pallets can handle?

Under design conditions our pallets are capable of 4000 lbs or 2 Metric Tons dynamic load and 16000 lbs or 8 Tons static load. (These values can change based on pallet configuration, we can design and provide pallets that can take up to 5 times the standard.)
Return to the questions

How many pallets can be stacked with a distributed load?

We recommend not more than 5, however this can vary depending on the pallet configuration. Heavy duty pallets can go higher.
Return to the questions

What is the deflection on a pallet when put on a cantilever pallet rack with only 2 sides supporting it?

Our simulation of deflection has worked out to less than 1" or 25.4mm which is the acceptable norm.

Our fork lift / lift fork drivers have managed to break wooden and plastic pallets, can they break Toro Pallets?

Breaking a Toro Pallet is difficult, we don't say it's impossible. Your fork lift drivers have to be very accurate and precise to 0.5 mm in order to separate the stringers from the deckboards and they are put together with 4 strong rivets in opposing corners. Our stringer and deckboard profile together works out to 12mm or 1/2 in, the bull's eye on a dart board is slightly bigger.
Return to the questions

What about the legs, can they damage those?

It would again be difficult to damage them as they have a circular surface outside and have cross beam walls on the inside, any impact would lead the pallet to either glide inward or outward depending on the impact zone.
Return to the questions

Toro Pallets gives a Life Time guarantee. What does this mean and how does it work?

Toro Pallets are designed as an Asset to a company, where depreciation would occur typically in 15 years as an industrial product. Our policy is straight forward, you break it, we'll change it. We request details of how the pallet was broken, so we can make our product better. We are here for building long term business relationships and quality products.
Return to the questions

How do Toro Pallets work with extreme temperatures?

Hybrid pallets can work up to 176° F (80° C) though the all aluminum pallets can be used up to 570° F (300° C).
Return to the questions

Can RFID tags be used with Toro Pallets?

Definitely, as an improvement to better tracking and supply chain control, all Toro Pallets can be equipped with RFID tags within minutes or can be ordered with RFID tags built in. Toro pallets are scaleable based on customer needs.
Return to the questions

Un-returned pallets is something we are worried about when it comes to Aluminum pallets, what can be done about it?

There are various ways of tackling this issue, . Asset Insurance . Contractual return policy's with 3PL providers and Customers . Charge accounts for pallets not returned . Tracking devices like RFID & Wireless technology
Return to the questions

How do Toro pallets compare to wood or plastic pallets?

Toro pallets are far superior compared to wood pallets on all counts, Lower weight, better stability, no fasteners, flame and fire proof, not damaged easily are just some of the examples.
Return to the questions

Where are Toro Pallets manufactured?

Toro Pallets are manufactured in Thailand to ensure good end user pricing as well as to maintain a very high grade of quality. Our facilities in Thailand are currently moving towards ISO 9001 certification.
Return to the questions

What is the lead time for an order?

A typical order would be executed with 60 days. However, high volume orders could take between 90 - 120 days. We are working on cutting down lead times and are constantly looking for better manufacturing practices.
Return to the questions

Can we use Toro Pallets on AS/AR systems?

Toro Pallets are 100% AS/AR compatible, there has never been a pallet, designed especially for Automatic storage and Retrieval systems. Toro Pallets are engineered to specifications and do not cause damage to legacy or hi-tech AS/AR equipment.
Return to the questions

Can you make special pallets for AS/AR systems as we have special material handling equipment?

Yes, Toro Pallets can be custom built around the equipment used by your company, our engineers will provide all options and configurations for you to select from. After our internal simulation and testing we will offer our Pallet for the specific requirement.
